Mutford have completed the signing of midfielder Johnny for the coming season in a dramatic evening of transfer developments last night.

Speculation had surrounded Johnny's future all summer with a high profile move to Pakefield looking likely at one point. Johnny took some time out in Portugal recently with his family to consider his options and on his return decided to stay at the club he has been with for 4 seasons. It is believed that a meeting took place last night behind closed doors at the home of Manager Paul Rose with Johnny's Dad and representative Alec, the forms were signed and there then followed a dash across town for them to be signed by club Secretary Christine Page so they can be submitted in time for Sundays big kick off. The league rules state that all players must be registered with the League secretary by the Thursday before the game.

Manager Paul Rose is pleased to have Johnny's future settled stating, "There is always a lot of transfer speculation during the summer and its naturally unsettling for players, he needs to concentrate now on his football and fitness and I'm sure he will have a very good season at this level. Johnny is the 15th player to sign, and unless someone really special comes along I think we have enough cover in all areas. I am pleased with the squad and looking forward to the coming season".

It is expected that Johnny will figure strongly this season in Mutford's midfield which includes Sam, Phil and Brad S, which looks on paper as strong as any other in the division Mutford's next match is a friendly against Oulton Mariners, whose last game was a 3-0 win over Mutford's first league opponents, St Bents Wasps.
