11th November 2005 - Home 12.00pm KO vs. Bungay Town A Result - Lost 6-1 Bungay showed why they are the only unbeaten team in division 2 with a good display of defending and clinical finishing at set pieces. Mutford had a couple of early chances with the evergreen Mikey firing past the far post and Jason unlucky with his hooked shot at the near post just sailing past the top corner. At the other end Bungay looked sharp but were kept at bay by some good defending. Bungay went in front just before half time when a corner has volleyed in at the near post. Mutford almost replied straight away at the other end but Phil was unlucky to have his goal bound shot blocked following a corner. On the stroke of half time Mutford were reduced to 10 men, when Harrison (in goal) was caught following a clearance and the resulting injury saw him take no further part in the match. Half Time 0-1. James went in goal at half time replacing Harrison and Mutford soldiered on with a re-shuffled mid-field. James was soon called into action and made a series of good saves to keep the score line 1-0. Then Bungay caught Mutford out with a series of well taken corners and a result of poor defending and good attacking play from Bungay saw the score line change to 4-0 to the visitors. Mikey grabbed a goal back for the home side and misses from Josh and Phil could have reduced the arrears further, but two more goals from the visitors secured the win. Final Score 1-6. Afterwards the Mutford manager Paul was not too disappointed with the performance he said "Bungay are the only unbeaten team in our division and we matched them in the first half. It was unfortunate to lose Harrison just before half time, but the rest of the team battled well". Man of the match went to Mikey, for his effort and movement up front, which was rounded off with a deserved goal. Man of the Match - Mikey.
