2nd October 2005 - Home 11.30am KO vs. Freethorpe Result - Won 9-2 Mutford picked up their 2nd league win of the season with an emphatic 2nd half display against a 10 man Freethorpe. Mutford for the 2nd week running struggled to find any rhythm at all in the first half and all credit to Freethorpe for there hard work fielding only 10 men, particulaly No.11 who was awesome at the back. Half Time 0-0. Some harsh words were spoken at half time to the Mutford team who were not performing as the Manager wanted and this seemed to do the trick. AJ scored the first with a superb strike from the edge of the box, giving the Freethorpe 'keeper no chance. Jack brought out a great save from the 'keeper to keep the score at 1-0. Jordan pounced for the second after the 'keeper could only parry a hard shot and Jordan reacted the quicker to poach a goal and Clabby made it 3-0 when he reacted well in the box to poke the ball home. Mikey made it 4-0 with a superb long range effort over 'keeper head. Soon after good work from Johnny on the right and his cross was coolly slotted in by AJ. Phil and Jack both came close before the Freethorpe No.11 got a deserved goal with a thunderous freekick, giving Harrison no chance. Up the other end Jason made it 6-1 with a tenacious back heal after a Phil's shot had been parried into his path. Soon after Jason had his second with after taking the ball down outside the area and unleashing a great shot into the left hand side of the goal. Freethorpe made it 7-2 with a goal from the hard-working No.6 who had been a real handful for the Mutford Defence. Jordan got his second and Mutford's 8th with a great finish after Freethorpe had failed to clear and AJ snatched his 2nd hatrick of the season after going through and firing passed the 'keeper. Man of the match went to Jack who worked tirelessly throughout both halves. Man of the Match - Jack.
